Quickstart: Entourage EmailBefore you begin, please make sure you have the following:
1. Launch Microsoft Entourage (it is part of the Office 2001 Suite) and click on the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts". 2. The Entourage Setup Wizard will come up to help configure your account. ![]() 3. Enter your name and click the right arrow. 4. Enter your contact information (optional) then click the right arrow. ![]() 5. Enter your business information (optional) in this next screen and click the right arrow ![]() 6. In the next screen, select "I want to start using Entourage without importing anything" and click the right arrow ![]() 7. In this screen, you can select or not select the "Junk Mail filter" feature of Entourage (Aikorn has junk mail/"spam" filtering on our mail servers so it is safe to leave this off). Then click the right arrow. ![]() 8. Enter the name you want to appear in the "From" field of your emails and click the right arrow. ![]() 9. In this screen, select "I already have an email address that I'd like to use" and enter your Aikorn address in the box, then click the right arrow. ![]() 10. In this screen, choose "POP" for "My incoming mail server is a(n)" and enter the following:
Click the right arrow. ![]() 11. In this next screen, enter your Aikorn email username and password (omit "@aikorn.com") and click the right arrow. ![]() 12. Enter a name for this account (any name of your choosing) and click "Finish". ![]() 13. If you need to make changes to your Entourage account after setting it up (say for instance you change your email username), open Entourage and click the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts" ![]() 14. An "Accounts" window will pop up showing the accounts you've set up, listed by the Account name you selected when you first configured the account. Highlight the account you want to modify and click "Edit" ![]() 15. In the "Edit" screen, you'll be able to modify the settings for that account (see below). Just make the necessary changes, and click "OK". ![]() 16. Click on the button which says "Click here for advanced sending options" under "Sending Mail". A window will pop up like the one below. ![]() 17. Check "Override default SMTP port" and enter "587" (no quotes) in the box. Also check "My SMTP server requires authentication" and "Use same settings as incoming mail server". Click OK as needed to close out your open dialog boxes, and you are done. |
